Abstract

Weak Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis or what is known as Linguistic Relativity is a concept of how language influences thought and world view perception partially with its inseparable connection with culture. All of these elements that influence each other occur in Neuro-sama the AI VTuber and the dynamics within her live-streaming based content on the YouTube and Twitch platforms. There are two purposes of this research whereas; First is to investigate dictions of Neuro-sama and her community influence each other’s aspect of Linguistic Relativity. Second is to examine cultural interferences of Sociolinguistics within Neuro-sama and her community exchanges. This research is viewed as a qualitative method due to the analysis through descriptive interpretation based on study of Sociolinguistics. As well as incorporates the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis by Edward Sapir and Benjamin Lee Whorf. Based on the researcher’s findings and discussions, this research resulted how the relationship and effect from distinct diction as language element, thought pattern, culture aspect, world view with cultural reference within each data of Neuro-sama and her community’s AVHI (AI VTuber-Human Interaction). Therefore, the conclusion of this research through the Linguistic Relativity approach of language influences other elements partially is that Neuro-sama the AI VTuber as well as her VTuber community’s AVHI are able to influence each other’s part of the language aspect (diction), thought pattern, culture and world view with cultural reference mainly on YouTube and Twitch platform.
