Abstract

INDONESIA: Sawi pakcoy (Brassica chinensis L.) merupakan komoditas sayuran yang banyak digemari masyarakat dari mulai anak-anak sampai orang tua. Tingginya serangan ulat daun kubis (Plutella xylostella) yang menyerang sawi pakcoy memicu petani menggunakan pestisida sintetik yang berdampak buruk pada kesehatan manusia dan tidak ramah lingkungan. Selama ini, kulit lada putih (Piper nigrum L.) hanya sebagai limbah sampingan produksi lada, padahal memiliki potensi sebagai pestisida alami yang efektif dan ramah lingkungan dalam pengendalian hama. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis efektivitas pestisida berbahan alam dari ekstrak kulit lada putih terhadap mortalitas ulat daun dari beragam perbandingan konsentrasi ekstrak kulit lada putih dan menentukan konsentrasi ekstrak kulit lada putih yang optimal untuk mortalitas ulat daun. Kulit lada putih diperoleh dari PT CAN (Kota Bandung) dan ulat daun kubis diperoleh dari Tasikmalaya. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2023-Januari 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu ekstrak kulit lada putih pada 3 konsentrasi (25%; 50%; 75%); kontrol negatif dan kontrol positif (Provathon). Analisis data dilakukan dengan probit SPSS IBM versi 22 untuk memperoleh nilai LC50. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan ekstrak kulit lada putih dengan konsentrasi 75% merupakan konsentrasi optimal untuk mortalitas ulat daun kubis dengan persentase mortalitas sebesar 4%. Ekstrak kulit lada putih memiliki aktivitas LC50 sebesar 2,46% dan bersifat toksik terhadap ulat daun. ENGLISH: Green mustard (Brassica chinensis L.) is a vegetable commodity that is popular with people from children to the elderly. The high number of cabbage leaf caterpillars (Plutella xylostella) attacking pak choy mustard greens has triggered farmers to use synthetic pesticides which have a negative impact on human health and pollute the environment. Impacts human health and is not environmentally friendly. So far, white pepper peel (Piper nigrum L.) has only been a by-product of pepper production, even though it has the potential to be an effective and environmentally friendly natural pesticide in controlling pests. The aim of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of pesticides made from natural ingredients from white pepper peel extract on leaf caterpillar mortality from various concentration ratios of white pepper peel extract and determine the optimal concentration of white pepper peel extract for leaf caterpillar mortality. White pepper skin was obtained from PT CAN (Bandung City) and cabbage leaf caterpillars were obtained from Tasikmalaya. The research was conducted in December-January 2021. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatment groups, namely white pepper peel extract at 3 concentrations (25%; 50%; 75%); control (aquades); and synthetic pesticides (Provathon). Data analysis was carried out using IBM SPSS version 22 probit to obtain the LC50 value. The results of the research showed that treatment with white pepper peel extract with a concentration of 75% was the optimal concentration for leaf caterpillar mortality of 4. White pepper peel extract had an LC50 activity of 2.46% and was toxic to leaf caterpillars.
