Abstract

INDONESIA: Microgreen adalah tanaman kecil mengandung banyak nutrisi yang dipanen 7-21 hari setelah tanam. Banyak sayuran dan herba yang ditanam sebagai microgreen. Namun, belum ada yang menggunakan tanaman semangka sebagai microgreen. Daun semangka mengandung antioksidan tinggi yang berperan dalam menjaga kesehatan tubuh. Untuk mengoptimalkan kualitas pertumbuhan tanaman, penambahan nutrisi tumbuhan menjadi salah satu faktor yang sangat penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh nutrisi tumbuhan terhadap pertumbuhan, kadar klorofil dan karotenoid serta korelasinya pada microgreen semangka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan yaitu Kontrol (tanpa nutrisi), ABmix, NPK, dan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC). Parameter yang diukur meliputi persentase perkecambahan, tinggi tanaman, panjang akar primer, jumlah akar lateral, luas kotiledon, berat basah, berat kering, kadar klorofil dan karotenoid. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian nutrisi tumbuhan berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman khususnya pada persentase perkecambahan dan berat basah microgreen semangka. Selanjutnya, nutrisi tumbuhan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah kadar klorofil dan karotenoid. Jenis perlakuan paling optimal adalah pemberian POC dengan rata-rata pada tinggi tanaman (11,79 cm), jumlah akar lateral (21,6 helai), berat bersih (8,57 g) dan berat kering (0,35 g). Hasil analisis korelasi menunjukan panjang akar primer berkorelasi cukup dengan jumlah akar lateral (0,457). Berat basah berkorelasi cukup linear negatif dengan persentase perkecambahan (-0,481). Berat basah berkorelasi kuat dengan berat kering (0,706). Dan kadar karotenoid berkorelasi sangat kuat dengan kadar klorofil total (0,907). ENGLISH: Microgreens it’s a small plants with many nutrients that are harvested 7-21 days after planting. So many vegetables and herbs are grown as microgreens. However, no one has used watermelon plants as microgreens. Watermelon leaves contain high antioxidants which is usefull in maintaining body health. To optimize the quality of plant growth, adding plant nutrition is a very important factor. This research aims to determine the effect of plant nutrition on growth, chlorophyll and carotenoid levels and their correlation in watermelon microgreens. This research is an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments, namely Control (without nutrition), ABmix, NPK, and Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC). The parameters measured is germination percentage, plant height, primary root length, number of lateral roots, cotyledon area, wet weight, dry weight, chlorophyll and carotenoid levels. The results showed that providing plant nutrition had a significant effect on plant growth, especially on the germination percentage and wet weight of watermelon microgreens. And then, plant nutrition has a significant effect on the levels of chlorophyll and carotenoids. The most optimal type of the treatment was giving it’s POC with an average of plant height (11,79 cm), number of lateral roots (21,6 strands), net weight (8,57 g) and dry weight (0,35 g). The results of the correlation analysis showed that the length of the primary root was quite correlated with the number of lateral roots (0,457). The wet weight had a fairly linear negative correlation with the germination percentage (-0,481). Wet weight is strongly correlated with dry weight (0,706). And carotenoid levels were very strongly correlated with total chlorophyll levels (0,907).
