Abstract

Radical feminism is a branch of feminism that seeks to address the root causes of women's oppression by challenging and dismantling patriarchal systems and structures. Radical feminism can be found in poetry through the analysis of figurative language and imagery to create a better understanding and convey the author's feelings to the listener. Kaur often addresses social issues, especially those relating to women's experiences, violence, feminism, and self-identity, which are essential contemporary issues to analyze in today's cultural context. This research will show the figurative language and imagery of the poem in the selected poetry of The Sun and Her Flowers and how radical feminist concepts are presented in the selected poetry. This research found 14 data with two analyzed types based on figurative language and imagery. All data analyzed align with the Radical feminist theory in Feminist Thought by Tong. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how figurative language and imagery are used in poetry.
