Abstract

INDONESIA : Di balik glamornya dunia modeling, terdapat tekanan besar yang harus dihadapi oleh para model. Standar kecantikan yang ditetapkan oleh agensi seringkali tidak realistis, menuntut model untuk memiliki tubuh yang sangat ramping dan tinggi, sehingga hal tersebut membuat banyak model kerap kali merasa tidak percaya diri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran kepercayaan diri pada model catwalk. Kualitatif fenomenologi digunakan sebagai metode penelitian ini dengan subjek berjumlah 3 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan gambaran kepercayaan diri ketiga model catwalk cukup rendah, karena kurang memenuhi beberapa aspek kepercayaan diri dengan baik. Faktor paling utama yang disebabkan karena ketiga model pernah mengalami peristiwa pahit yang disebabkan oleh kerasnya dunia model seperti perundungan dan tingginya tuntutan dalam dunia modeling hingga menyebabkan kepercayaan diri model catwalk rendah. ENGLISH : Behind the glamour of the modeling world, there is a great pressure that models have to face. The beauty standards set by agencies are often unrealistic, requiring models to have a very slim and tall body, which makes many models often feel unconfident. The purpose of this study is to find out the picture of confidence in catwalk models. Qualitative phenomenology is used as the method of this research with 3 subjects. The results of the study show that the confidence picture of the three catwalk models is quite low, because it does not meet some aspects of confidence well. The most important factor caused by the three models has experienced bitter events caused by the harshness of the modeling world such as bullying and high demands in the modeling world to cause low catwalk model confidence
