Abstract

Abstract: Based on a preliminary study, it was found that the male and female separate learning model received quite positive responses from the students. This can be seen from their enthusiasm during the Islamic Religious Education lessons. However, on the other hand, many students still have very different learning motivations. This is indicated by the average results of the questionnaires distributed, which affected the grades obtained by students in class XI, with a 15.90% average. This creates an interesting problem to research. This study aims to determine: 1) students' perceptions of the separate learning system, 2) students' learning motivation in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Counseling, 3) the relationship between students' perceptions of the separate learning system and their learning motivation in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Counseling in class XI of SMA Plus Al-Aqsha. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlation strategy. Data collection techniques applied include interviews, questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The data analysis technique uses a logical approach for qualitative data and a statistical approach for quantitative data, going through normality tests, partial analysis, correlation tests, and hypothesis tests.Based on the research results, it shows that the relationship between students' perceptions of the separate learning system and their learning motivation in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Counseling is indicated by a correlation coefficient score of 0.341, which is in the range of 0.200 - 0.399, categorized as a low correlation between the two variables. Then, based on the hypothesis test, the t-value obtained was 2.321, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.618, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The effect of variable X (students' perceptions of the separate learning system) on variable Y (students' learning motivation in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Counseling) is 16.6%, with the remaining 84% being influenced by other factors. In other words, with a significance level of α = 5%, there is a significant positive correlation between variable X and variable Y. The recommendation obtained after conducting this research is that adjustments should be made to the separate learning system by adopting various learning methods and aspects that are expected to improve the effectiveness of learning, facilitating interaction among students. Activities such as non-academic ones, like discipline training, could be beneficial.
