Abstract
Film is the oldest electronic media compared to other media, moreover film has succeeded in showing vivid images that seem to transfer reality onto the screen. There are many genres and elements in a film, one of which is cultural elements, the cultural elementsare usually reflect where the main character comes from, and this research aims to analyze how Chinese culture and mythology are represented in the Marvel film. The movie is milestone because it presents an Asian superhero character in a Western cinematic narratives that is loaded with Eastern cultural elements. To explain the process of representation that emerges in the film, this study uses Stuart Hall's theory of representation. The method used is descriptive qualitative with an objective approach. The main data wa obtained from scenes in the film containing elements of Chinese culture and mythology, which were then analyzed in depth to reveal how cultural meanings were constructed.
