Abstract

This research takes a movie as the object. The movie that the researcher chose is Wonder Woman that produced by DC Entertaiment in 2017. The focus of this research is to reveal the heroine’s archetype and journey presented in this movie. In this research, the researcher reveals the heroine’ archetype by the traits, the type and the personality of hero or heroine’s archetype. Furthermore, the researcher reveals the heroine’s journey by Vogler (2007) theory of hero or heroine’s journey. This theory describes several stages that reveal the hero or heroine’s journey. This research uses structuralism method to analyze the data. The researcher uses the dialogues and actions of the character to get the result. As a result, the researcher found there are five traits, three types, and nine personalities of individual that show the heroine’s archetype. The researcher also found ten of twelve stages of heroine’s journey in this movie.
