Abstract
This study discusses presuppositions and implicatures in song lyrics on the album Solipsism by Pamungkas. This study aims to identify the types of presuppositions and to interpret the implicatures of presuppositions contained in the song lyrics on the album Solipsism. The theoretical approach used in this study is a pragmatic approach, which means that the researcher as an analyzer considers the utterances in song lyrics that are considered to have presuppositions. Meanwhile, the methodological approach used in this study is a qualitative approach, namely descriptive analysis, which is a study that provides an objective description. With these approaches, it is identified fragments of song lyrics in the album Solipsism which contain presuppositions, then analyze the data with detailed descriptions based on the problems contained in the research problem formulation. The results of the analysis show that, first, there are 87 data of presuppositions found, including: 29 data of existential presupposition, 22 data of lexical presupposition, 22 data of non-factive presuppositions, 11 data of factive presuppositions, two data of structural presuppositions and one data counter-factual presuppositions. Second, from these data, the researcher interprets the other meanings or implicatures of the presuppositions found based on the context of the song’s lyrics which are finally grouped according to similar patterns, namely the expression of deep love, the willingness to strive, the expression of positivity, the feeling to resign and the expression of longing.
