Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Rancaekek tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling pada siswa kelas VIII dengan mengambil dua kelas dari sebelas kelas, satu kelas terdiri dari 45 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas lainnya terdiri dari 45 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa: 1) Keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran guru dan siswa menggunakan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) berada pada kategori baik sekali; 2) Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang menggunakan menggunakan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) lebih baik secara signifikan daripada siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional; 3) Kebanyakan siswa memberikan sikap positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika menggunakan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT). The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of learning with the Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) approach to students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Rancaekek for the 2022/2023 academic year. Sampling used the cluster random sampling technique in class VIII students by taking two classes of eleven classes, one class consisting of 45 students as the experimental class and the other class consisting of 45 students as the control class. The results of the study showed that: 1) The implementation of the teacher and student learning process using the Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) approach was in the very good category; 2) Improving students' mathematical critical thinking skills using learning using the Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) approach is significantly better than students using conventional learning models; 3) Most students give a positive attitude towards learning mathematics using learning with the Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) approach.
