Abstract

The study aims to analyze the use of word-to-word translation methods, literal translation methods, and communicative translation methods and their quality in the book "Atomic Habits" Chapter I. The translation methods used in the books are identified and evaluated in the context of accuracy in translation. The study adopted a qualitative descriptive approach by analyzing translation samples relevant to the context being tested. The data obtained is analyzed comprehensively to understand how each method of translation is applied and to what extent the quality of the translation. The findings of the analysis show that there are (35) data word for word translation methods, (63) data literal translation Methods, (65) communicative translation techniques proposed by Newmark used in translating the dialogue and sentences in Atomic Habits book from English into Indonesian, Acceptability aspects or the quality reach the highest score on accuracy, this research found 150 data out of 163 that consider the accurate, 6 data categorized less accurate and 3 data are considered inaccurate based on qualitative parameter translation by Nababan. The findings in this study are expected to contribute to understanding the application of the translation method and its quality to a particular literary work.
