Abstract

Grammar is one of the essential skills in language learning. Pasaribu, Herman, and Hutahaean (2019) discover that tense, sentence, phrase, clause, attribute, and indefinite article are the most difficult for students to translate from English into Indonesia. Based on the preliminary interviews, students in the seventh-semester were experiencing grammatical errors when translating from English to Indonesian. Therefore, this research is conducted to determine the correlation between students’ English grammar mastery and their quality in translating English into Indonesian. This study used a quantitative approach with the correlation method. This research was conducted at Sunan Gunung Djati State Islamic University Bandung. Document analysis was employed to acquire data for this investigation. The information was gathered from the scores of advanced English grammar course (variable X) and translating English-Indonesian courses (variable Y). The researcher chose 40 students as the study's sample. Therefore, the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (Pearson Correlation Coefficient) in SPSS 29 was utilized to examine the data correlation in this investigation.
