Abstract

This study focuses on the eleventh-grade of language class, it was noted that a considerable number of students exhibited a lack of proficiency in English vocabulary. This problem caused by low student’s motivation, monotonous teaching approaches, and students fear making mistakes in learning vocabulary. U-Dictionary realization raised after administering a comprehension test that assessed their understanding of English vocabulary. This research is quantitative research. The method used in this study is pre-experimental research methods. The scope of the research focus on the use of U-Dictionary as a media to increase students’ vocabulary mastery. The aim of this study was to investigate at how U-Dictionary as a mobile learning dictionary application, improved students' English vocabulary. This study is to determine how U-Dictionary, a mobile learning dictionary application, boosted students' English vocabulary before and after using U-Dictionary. Furthermore, this purpose answers to research questions. The first objective is to understand the student's English vocabulary before utilizing U-Dictionary application. The second objective is to assess the students' English vocabulary after using U-Dictionary. Finally, determine whether there is a substantial difference among students in the effect of U-Dictionary on English vocabulary ability. This section summarizes the study's findings based on the data collected. The result of this research, U-Dictionary application can help students improve their English vocabulary ability throughout the treatment. This is demonstrated by the acquisition of an average score after the execution of the post-test. Improving students' English vocabulary ability through the U-Dictionary application can help students mastered the vocabulary with its diverse features, that provides a comprehensive platform for language learning and vocabulary improvement.
