Abstract
Crime fiction or crime story is a literary genre that tells stories about crime, its detection, criminals and their motives. It is usually distinct from general fiction and other genres such as historical fiction or science fiction, but the boundaries are not clear. This research attempts to discuss the elements of crime fiction in the sequel film Now You See Me. To specify the research, the researcher divides this analysis into two research questions, they are: 1.) What are the elements of crime fiction depicted in the sequel film Now You See Me? 2.) How does crime fictions elements build sequel film Now You See Me? In this study, researchers used a descriptive qualitative method in which the data were in the form of scenes and dialogues sourced from the sequel to the film Now You See Me. Then analysed using the theory presented by John Scaggs through his book entitled: "Crime Fiction - A New Critical Idiom". Researchers also took the approach described by Abrams, namely the expressive approach. The results of this study found two findings, first is what elements of criminal fiction are found in the film sequel and how these elements can build the story in this film sequel. The researcher managed to identify through the scenes and dialog contained in this film sequel.
