Abstract

Personal branding dalam dunia digital saat ini menjadi sebuah fenomena yang menarik untuk diteliti karena semakin banyaknya seseorang yang sadar akan pentingnya merek diri yang dapat mencapai kesuksesan pribadi dan profesional yang lebih besar. Personal branding di media sosial Instagram merupakan kombinasi pembentukan citra positif dan pendekatan yang strategis. Gilang Setiawan merupakan seorang educational content creator yang berfokus pada beasiswa dan program internasional dalam kontennya. Gilang Setiawan menyadari bahwa dalam meningkatkan kesadaran publik terhadap pentingnya pendidikan dapat dilakukan dengan menjadi educational content creator dengan membangun personal branding yang tepat. Berdasarkan hal tersebut personal branding Gilang Setiawan di Instagram dibentuk. Banyaknya pengikut yang termotivasi dari konten Gilang Setiawan di Instagram dan bentuk kepercayaan kolaborasi yang dilakukan oleh pihak eksternal, maka penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui strategi Gilang Setiawan dalam membangun personal branding sebagai educational content creator dalam upaya meningkatkan kesadaran pentingnya pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep Circle-P sebagai strategi dalam membangun personal branding menurut Silih Agung Wasesa (2018). Konsep Circle-P terdiri dari serangkaian lima komponen yakni competency, connectivity, creativity, contribution dan compliance. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus untuk mendeskripsikan tahapan strategi personal branding di media sosial Instagram secara mendalam. Paradigma yang digunakan ialah paradigma konstruktivistik. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi partisipasi pasif, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa personal branding Gilang Setiawan sebagai educational content creator melalui akun Instagram @gilangsetiaaa dalam upaya meningkatkan kesadaran pentingnya pendidikan telah menerapkan 5 komponen konsep Circle-P yakni kompetensi, koneksi, kreativitas, kontribusi dan kepatuhan yang digagas oleh Silih Agung Wasesa dalam bentuk konten edukatif, interaksi dan kolaborasi, kreativitas konten serta kontribusi terhadap publik dengan tetap menjaga etika digital. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian perlu dijaga dan ditingkatkan konsistensi serta kreativitas dalam memproduksi konten edukatif yang autentik. Pada praktisi humas, pengembangan strategi digital yang inklusif dan interaktif. Salsabila: Personal Branding Through Instagram Social Media in an Effort to Increase Awareness of the Importance of Education (Case Study of Gilang Setiawan as an Educational Content Creator via the Instagram Account @gilangsetiaaa) Personal branding in the digital world is currently an interesting phenomenon to research because more and more people are aware of the importance of self-branding which can achieve greater personal and professional success. Personal branding on Instagram social media is a combination of creating a positive image and a strategic approach. Gilang Setiawan is an educational content creator who focuses on scholarships and international programs in his content. Gilang Setiawan realizes that increasing public awareness of the importance of education can be done by becoming an educational content creator by building the right personal branding. Based on this, Gilang Setiawan's personal branding on Instagram was formed. The large number of followers who are motivated by Gilang Setiawan's content on Instagram and the form of trust in collaboration carried out by external parties, this research was conducted to determine Gilang Setiawan's strategy in building personal branding as an educational content creator in an effort to increase awareness of the importance of education. This research uses the Circle-P concept as a strategy in building personal branding according to Silih Agung Wasesa (2018). The Circle-P concept consists of a series of five components, namely competency, connectivity, creativity, contribution and compliance. This research uses a case study method to describe the stages of personal branding strategy on Instagram social media in depth. The paradigm used is the constructivist paradigm. Data collection used passive participant observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that Gilang Setiawan's personal branding as an educational content creator via the Instagram account @gilangsetiaaa in an effort to increase awareness of the importance of education has implemented the 5 components of the Circle-P concept, namely competence, connection, creativity, contribution and compliance which was initiated by Silih Agung Wasesa in the form educational content, interaction and collaboration, content creativity and contribution to the public while maintaining digital ethics. Based on the research results, it is necessary to maintain and increase consistency and creativity in producing authentic educational content. In public relations practitioners, development of inclusive and interactive digital strategies.
