Abstract

INDONESIA: Viking Persib Club dikenal sebagai komunitas suporter yang aktif dan konsisten dalam menjaga komunikasi dengan sesama pendukung serta masyarakat luas, khususnya melalui berbagai platform media sosial. Tidak hanya berfokus pada penyebaran informasi mengenai kegiatan dan dukungan terhadap Persib Bandung, Viking Persib Club juga menerapkan berbagai strategi dalam membangun dan mempertahankan citra positif. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana konsep diri (the self), konsep perbuatan (the act), dan konsep interaksi sosial (social interaction) dalam menjaga citra Persib Bandung. Landasan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Teori Interaksi Simbolik yang dikembangkan oleh Herbert Blumer. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivistik melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui hasil observasi dengan jenis observasi partisipasi pasif, wawancara dengan jenis wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Metode penelitian ini digunakan untuk memperoleh gambaran dan data faktual yang terjadi di lapangan berkaitan dengan Citra Persib Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Viking Persib Club telah menerapkan konsep menjaga citra Persib Bandung dengan berlandaskan pada Teori Interaksi Simbolik yang dikembangkan oleh Herbert Blumer. Tujuan dari menerapkan konsep ini adalah untuk membangun dan mempertahankan identitas sebagai komunitas suporter yang loyal serta berkontribusi dalam menjaga citra positif Persib Bandung. Upaya Viking Persib Club dalam menjaga citra Persib Bandung dapat dilihat melalui beberapa aspek, yaitu konsep diri, konsep perbuatan, dan konsep interaksi sosial. Dalam konteks konsep diri, Viking Persib Club menunjukkan loyalitas yang tinggi terhadap klub Persib Bandung dan memposisikan diri sebagai suporter pionir bagi klub tersebut. Berikutnya dalam konteks konsep perbuatan, Viking Persib Club memilih untuk tetap mendukung secara langsung dengan datang ke stadion, sementara sebagian elemen suporter Persib Bandung lainnya memilih untuk tidak hadir. Selain itu, Viking Persib Club juga memiliki mobil ambulans yang digunakan untuk kepentingan umum sebagai upaya menjaga citra di luar stadion. Mereka juga mengadakan agenda diskusi terbuka dengan mengangkat isu-isu penting, seperti melawan rasisme di dunia sepak bola. Viking Persib Club turut membersamai dan mendampingi korban rasisme, kekerasan fisik, serta pelecehan verbal yang dilakukan oleh oknum pengamanan di dalam stadion. Terakhir Dalam konteks konsep interaksi sosial, Viking Persib Club menunjukkan konsistensi dalam komunikasi antar komunitas suporter, baik secara internal maupun dengan suporter klub lainnya. Mereka juga memanfaatkan media sosial secara efektif untuk menjangkau bobotoh (sebutan untuk suporter Persib) dan masyarakat umum, sehingga informasi mengenai kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh Viking Persib Club dapat tersebar dengan baik. ENGLISH: Viking Persib Club is known as a community of supporters who are active and consistent in maintaining communication with fellow supporters and the wider community, especially through various social media platforms. Not only focusing on disseminating information about activities and support for Persib Bandung, Viking Persib Club also implements various strategies in building and maintaining a positive image. This study aims to describe how the concept of self, the concept of act, and the concept of social interaction in maintaining the image of Persib Bandung. The foundation of this research is the Symbolic Interaction Theory developed by Herbert Blumer. This study uses a constructivistic paradigm through a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive study method. Data collection was carried out through observation results with passive participation observation types, interviews with in-depth interview types, and documentation. This research method is used to obtain an overview and factual data that occurs in the field related to the Image of Persib Bandung. The research findings indicate that Viking Persib Club has implemented the concept of maintaining the image of Persib Bandung, grounded in Herbert Blumer's Symbolic Interaction Theory. The purpose of this implemented is to build and sustain an identity as a loyal supporter community while contributing to preserving the positive image of Persib Bandung. Viking Persib Club's efforts to maintain the image of Persib Bandung can be observed through several aspects: self-concept, action concept, and social interaction concept. In the context of self-concept, Viking Persib Club demonstrates high loyalty toward Persib Bandung and positions itself as a pioneering supporter group for the club. In the context of action concept, Viking Persib Club chooses to provide direct support by attending matches at the stadium, while some other elements of Persib Bandung supporters opt not to attend. Additionally, Viking Persib Club operates an ambulance for public use as part of its efforts to maintain a positive image outside the stadium. They also organize open discussion forums addressing important issues, such as combating racism in football. Furthermore, Viking Persib Club accompanies and supports victims of racism, physical violence, and verbal abuse perpetrated by security personnel within the stadium. In the context of social interaction concept, Viking Persib Club maintains consistent communication among supporter communities, both internally and with other club supporters. They also effectively utilize social media to reach bobotoh (the term for Persib supporters) and the general public, ensuring that information about their activities is disseminated efficiently.
