Abstract
This study is tended to knowing the effectiveness of using realia as a media to enhance students’ ability in preposition material. This study is coducted because students’ have some trouble when using preposition material. The students’ understanding about prepositions is still limited. This study is guided by three research questions that are going to reveal is 1). The students’ ability in preposition material before using ralia as a media; 2). The students’ ability of preposition material using experimental media; and 3). The effectiveness of the use of realia to enhance students’ ability in preposition material. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness before and after using realia as a media in preposition material in teaching-learning process in classroom. Looking at the purpose in the research, it is visible that the study applies quantitative method. Moreover, this study uses one group experimental. This study takes place at seventh garde SMP Al-Amanah Cileunyi Kab.Bandung. The participant of this study are the students of 7A which totals 31 students. The condacting of the data, the first study the researcher gave students pre – test to find out the students’ ability before using realia. The treatment use to teach students to enhancing students’ ability. Students’ were taught by using realia in classroom activity. After gave the treatment, students were gave post – test to know stuudents’ ability after treatment. This study founded that there are some trouble from students. Students sometimes omitte and miss used the preposition material. This students error had revealed from the score of pre-test. The pre – test score was at 57 before using realia as a media in teaching – learning process. The researcher used post – test to know the development and the effectiveness of using realia as a media. The post – test score was at 84. So, the used of realia as a media is effective to enhance students’ ability in using preposition material.
