Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi digital telah mengubah dunia penyiaran secara signifikan, termasuk di Indonesia. Konvergensi media, yaitu penyatuan berbagai platform media dalam satu sistem digital, menjadi tren penting saat ini. TVRI Jawa Barat sebagai stasiun TV publik juga melakukan perubahan ini agar tetap relevan dan menjangkau lebih banyak penonton, terutama anak muda. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana TVRI Jawa Barat melaksanakan konvergensi media untuk menghadapi perubahan digital. Penelitian ini mengungkap inovasi yang dikembangkan dalam menggunakan media sosial untuk menyebarkan konten, serta bagaimana strategi tersebut disesuaikan dengan karakter pengguna digital, khususnya generasi muda. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bagaimana perubahan ini memengaruhi cara kerja internal dan susunan organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, pengamatan langsung, dan dokumentasi dengan narasumber dari tim internal TVRI Jawa Barat seperti bagian Program, Redaksi, dan Konten Media Baru. Analisis menggunakan teori konvergensi media dari Henry Jenkins dan model lima dimensi dari Grant & Wilkinson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TVRI Jawa Barat telah melakukan konvergensi media secara bertahap dengan membentuk Tim Konten Media Baru (KMB) yang fokus menyebarkan konten di YouTube, Instagram, dan TikTok. Inovasi mereka meliputi podcast seperti Ngobrol Persib dan Ngobrol Cerdas (Ngoces), video pendek yang mengikuti tren digital, serta siaran langsung program unggulan. Strategi ATM (Amati, Tiru, Modifikasi) menjadi pendekatan kreatif untuk menyesuaikan konten dengan karakter pengguna media sosial. Meskipun memiliki keterbatasan sumber daya, TVRI Jawa Barat berhasil menerapkan konvergensi media secara efektif tanpa kehilangan identitasnya sebagai stasiun TV publik yang mendidik dan informatif. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa konvergensi media bukan hanya perubahan teknologi, tetapi juga perubahan cara berpikir dan strategi komunikasi dalam menjangkau penonton di era digital, sehingga TVRI Jawa Barat menjadi contoh bagaimana media tradisional dapat bertransformasi melalui kerja sama dan inovasi berbasis media sosial. The advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed the broadcasting world, including in Indonesia. Media convergence, which is the integration of various media platforms into one digital system, has become an important trend today. TVRI West Java as a public TV station is also undergoing this transformation to remain relevant and reach more audiences, especially young people. This research examines how TVRI West Java implements media convergence to face digital transformation. This research reveals innovations developed in using social media to distribute content, as well as how these strategies are adapted to the characteristics of digital users, particularly the younger generation. Additionally, this research aims to understand how these changes affect internal work processes and organizational structure. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation with sources from TVRI West Java's internal teams such as Programming, Editorial, and New Media Content departments. The analysis uses media convergence theory from Henry Jenkins and the five-dimensional model from Grant & Wilkinson. The research results show that TVRI West Java has implemented media convergence gradually by establishing a New Media Content (KMB) Team that focuses on distributing content on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Their innovations include podcasts such as Ngobrol Persib and Ngobrol Cerdas (Ngoces), short videos that follow digital trends, and live broadcasts of featured programs. The ATM strategy (Observe, Imitate, Modify) serves as a creative approach to adapt content to the characteristics of social media users. Despite having limited resources, TVRI West Java successfully implements media convergence effectively without losing its identity as a public TV station that is educational and informative. This research confirms that media convergence is not only a technological change, but also a change in mindset and communication strategy in reaching audiences in the digital era, making TVRI West Java an example of how traditional media can transform through collaboration and social media-based innovation.
