Abstract

INDONESIA: Perkembangan teknologi digital mendorong munculnya praktik misa live streaming di Gereja Katedral Santo Petrus Bandung sebagai bentuk adaptasi pastoral di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi misa live streaming dan nilai spiritualitas yang dihayati jemaat dalam perayaan liturgi tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap tujuh jemaat sebagai informan utama, satu pastor, dan dua anggota tim media sebagai informan pendukung, dilengkapi observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis menggunakan teori sakral-profan Mircea Eliade, teori mediatisasi agama Stig Hjarvard, dan konsep empat nilai spiritualitas Sandra M. Schneiders. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi misa live streaming mempertahankan seluruh struktur tata perayaan Ekaristi, dengan tim media berperan sebagai agen mediatisasi yang menundukkan logika teknis siaran pada otoritas liturgi. Nilai spiritualitas jemaat tetap terhayati melalui medium digital, dengan kesadaran transenden yang menguat pada momen konsekrasi dan doa komuni batin, keterlibatan aktif yang bergantung pada habitus liturgis individu, transformasi diri melalui internalisasi khotbah, serta keterkaitan komunal yang hadir secara terbatas. Penelitian ini menghasilkan dua kontribusi konseptual. Pertama, perluasan konsep axis mundi Eliade menjadi axis mundi terdistribusi, di mana pusat orientasi sakral tersebar secara personal di ruang-ruang domestik yang disakralkan jemaat. Kedua, modifikasi teori Hjarvard melalui konsep mediatisasi yang dinegosiasikan, yang menunjukkan bahwa relasi media dan agama dapat bersifat kolaboratif ketika institusi keagamaan mempertahankan otoritas atas makna ritual. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa sakralitas dan spiritualitas tidak lenyap dalam ruang digital, melainkan mengalami transformasi bentuk melalui mekanisme sakralisasi yang bergantung pada keterlibatan aktif subjeknya. ENGLISH: The growth of digital technology has encouraged live-streamed Mass practices at Saint Peter's Cathedral Bandung as a form of pastoral adaptation in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the implementation of live-streamed Mass and the spiritual values experienced by congregants during the liturgical celebration. This research employed a phenomenological qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with seven congregants as primary informants, one priest, and two media team members as supporting informants, complemented by observation and documentation. Analysis was conducted using Mircea Eliade's theory of the sacred and profane, Stig Hjarvard's mediatization of religion theory, and Sandra M. Schneiders' four-dimensional spirituality concept. Findings show that live-streamed Mass preserved the complete Eucharistic structure, with the media team acting as mediatization agents who subordinated broadcasting logic to liturgical authority. Congregants' spiritual values remained experientially accessible through digital medium, with transcendent awareness intensifying during consecration and spiritual communion, active engagement depending on individual liturgical habitus, self-transformation through homily internalization, and communal relatedness present in limited form. This research produces two conceptual contributions: first, an extension of Eliade's axis mundi into a distributed axis mundi, where sacred orientation is personally dispersed across domestically sacralized spaces; second, a modification of Hjarvard's theory through negotiated mediatization, demonstrating that media-religion relations can be collaborative when religious institutions retain authority over ritual meaning. These findings confirm that sacredness and spirituality are not lost in digital spaces but undergo transformation through active subject engagement.
