Abstract

This dissertation examines the story development of Arthur Morgan, the main protagonist in Red Dead Redemption 2 developed by Rockstar Games. Using narrative and character‑development theories, the study analyzes how Arthur’s personality, moral choices, and internal conflicts evolve throughout the game’s story. The analysis focuses on key narrative elements such as plot structure, dialogue, player agency, and environmental storytelling to reveal how Arthur changes from a loyal outlaw to a more self‑reflective and morally conscious character. The research concludes that Rockstar successfully constructs Arthur Morgan as a complex, dynamic protagonist whose story resonates emotionally with players and contributes to the broader themes of redemption, identity, and the decline of the American frontier.
