Abstract
ENGLISH: This study was motivated by the importance of perceived government transparency in fostering public trust in the digital era, particularly among Generation Z as active users of the X platform, who tend to be critical of political information. In addition, party identity was selected as a moderating variable because it was assumed to influence how perceived transparency translates into trust in government. This study aimed to examine the effect of perceived transparency on trust in government, with party identity serving as a moderating variable. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The participants consisted of 385 Generation Z respondents who were active users of the X platform and met the predetermined sampling criteria. Data were analyzed using correlation analysis followed by Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The findings revealed that party identity significantly moderated the effect of perceived transparency on trust in government, with a positive interaction coefficient (b = 0.193). Furthermore, the moderation model yielded an Adjusted R Square of 0.612, indicating that higher levels of party identity significantly strengthened the positive effect of perceived transparency on trust in government.
