Abstract
This thesis discusses feminism which refers to the standards of beauty that emerge in society, which results in women as victims. The Beauty Myth (1990) written by Naomi Wolf is known as one of the novels that discusses beauty myths in women which has invited a lot of controversy because it is considered too exaggerating. Imperfect (2019) written by Meira Anastasya is also one of the novels that discusses women's beauty standards which are packaged lightly by telling the author's personal experience as a woman who often gets body shaming or physical humiliation because they are considered not to meet the beauty standards that apply to society around. The two novels have a long range of writing time but have the same theme of discussion, it means that women who have been considered as 'objects' still receive unpleasant treatments and still cannot get their rights as fellow women in the social environment. The researcher formulated two questions in this study. The researcher formulated two questions in this study. First, what is the point of view of the standard of beauty in The Beauty Myth and Imperfect novels when viewed from a cultural perspective. The second question is how the stigma about beauty standards can appear among the people in these two novels. The object of this research is the novel. The author uses descriptive analysis by comparing the two novels using a table. The research method used is a qualitative method with a cross-cultural approach as a method in researching the two works.
