Abstract
This study aims to determine (1) the listening skills at eighth grade student of MTs KH. A. Wahab Muhsin taught by running dictation activities (2) Listening Skills at eighth grade student of MTs KH. A. Wahab Muhsin Without Using Dictation Running Activities (3) the extent which the student listening skills between students who are taught using and those who are taught without using Running Dictation activities. This study uses a quantitative research approach with a quasi-experimental design. The participants of this research consisted of students of the eighth Grade of MTs KH. A. Wahab Muhsin. This research took two class of students. Researchers used pre-test and post-test in collecting data. In analyzing the data, the researcher used SPSS v.26 analytical statistics. After processing the data, it was seen that there was a significant increase in students' listening skills. This can be seen from the results after analyzing the collected data, showing that the average pre-test score for the control class is 49.60 and the experimental class is 50.60. Then the post-test value of the control class was 51.40 and the experimental class was 74.40. The results of the significant value of the t-test showed that 0.000, less than 0.05 or 5% (0.000 < 0.05) This means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Ha which state there is significant difference in improving students listening skills using running dictation activity. Whereas Ho which states that there is no significant difference in improving students listening skills without using running dictation activity. the researcher concludes that there is a significant improvement in the students' listening skills by using running dictation of the eighth-grade students of MTs KH. A. Wahab Muhsin. The findings of this study have implications for learning English, which are expected to be able to contribute to the mastery of learning English in particular Listening skills. In addition, teachers can take advantage of the results of this study by using them as additional teaching materials in teaching English through fun media so that language learning is not boring by using activities that are usually favored by students.
