Abstract
Listening is an essential aspect of language learning, becoming one of language's four pillars. However, some English teachers have been paying less attention to listening recently. This study intendts to test to improve students' listening comprehension skills. The media used is Vodcast because this media is quite popular, and not much research has been done regarding this media. Vodcast itself is a podcast file that contains a video in the file. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The research site is at the MA P3SB (Pondok Pembangunan Sumur Bandung) school, Cililin, West Bandung. Using two groups, the experimental group and the control group, the samples taken were two classes, XII IPA A, totalling 32 students as the experimental group and XII IPA B, totalling 28 students as the control group. The pre-test and post-test became the research instruments. This study analyzes data using four different tests. Normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, and n-gain The study results show that the experimental group's average pre-test score is 50.28. At the same time, the score of the post-test was 68.71. For the control group, the average of the pre-test was 48.85. At the same time, the score of the post-test was 61.85. These data conclude that both listening comprehension groups received its improvement. For the experimental group, the increase is more than the control group. Because the treatment using Vodcast Media is implemented in the treatment group, in other words, vodcast is an effective medium for improving students' listening comprehension.
