Abstract
The use of the Quantum reading method in Teacing Reading aims to increase student motivation and skills in reading Arabic texts. (Quasi-experimental study of class XI students of MA An-Najah Hidayatunnajah Islamic Boarding School in Bekasi) This research is based on students' problems in learning the Arabic language. The majority of them did not pay attention to the Arabic language learning material provided by the teacher until it made them lack the motivation to learn the Arabic language. Based on the results of the observations presented by the researchers in the research site, the teaching method of Arabic language teachers is still not effective, especially the learning methods to improve reading skills. The quantum reading method as one of the methods and models for learning to read. This model is rooted in the framework developed by Bobby dePorter through the term TANDUR (grow, experience, name, apply, iterate, celebrate). In this way it can provide a natural and enjoyable learning atmosphere, so that it can attract students' attention and enthusiasm in learning activities, especially in learning to read where they are expected to be able to understand what they read in the form of words. Or sentences or paragraphs from the Arabic text. The purpose of this research is to determine the educational motivation of eleventh grade students at Hidayat An-Najah Islamic Secondary School Bekasi before and after using the quantitative reading method, to determine the reading skills of eleventh grade students at Hidayat An-Najah Islamic Secondary School Bekasi before and after using the quantitative reading method, and to determine the development of In the learning motivation and reading skills of the eleventh grade in the Islamic Secondary School "Hidayat An-Najah" after using the quantitative reading method. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental method (two group design with pre and post test). The approach used in this research is a quantitative and qualitative approach. The data collection methods used are observation, interviews, tests, studies, books and the sample of this research is 48 students The result of this research is that the degree of motivation of eleventh grade students at Hidayat Al-Najah Islamic Secondary School to read Arabic texts before using the quantitative reading method shows a low degree. This is indicated by an average value of 79.23, after using the very high degree quantum method, an average value of 89.21 is obtained. Thus, the ability of students to read Arabic texts before using the application of the quantitative reading method shows a low score with an average value of 51.23. After using the application method, a very good score appears, with an average value of 80.60. The application of the quantitative reading method affected students' motivation to increase faster from 79.36% to 89.21%, an increase of 9.85% in the upper category, which affected students' ability to understand Arabic texts by 0.5881, which was an increase. It shows 58.8102%. Therefore, the application of the quantitative reading method in teaching reading to improve students' ability to understand Arabic texts has a medium and effective effect.
