Abstract

This research aimed to explore the implementation of the collaborative writing strategy and to find out the students' perception of the collaborative writingstrategy at SMP Plus Ibnu Rusyd. The research used qualitative method, involved30 students of 7th grade at Smp Plus Ibnu Rusyd to find out the role of collaborativewriting strategies in writing descriptive texts. The result was the 7th grade Englishclassroom at Smp Ibnu Rusyd has implemented collaborative writing strategies,transforming the learning environment. Despite challenges like vocabularydeficiencies and limited tools, the strategy has improved writing proficiency andenriched interpersonal skills. Students appreciate the collaborative nature andrecognize its practical applicability, enhancing communication and groupwork. Inconclusion, 7th grade students at Smp Plus Ibnu Rusyd find the collaborative writingstrategy engaging, enhancing their writing skills and fostering social andcommunicative skills, highlighting its long-term benefits.
