Abstract
This research focuses on analyzing the forms of the human mind which are divided into three namely Id, Ego, and Superego by using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theory to find melancholia contained in the Sour album. Therefore, this research raises two problems related to; (1) The description of id, ego and superego in the song lyrics in the album Sour by Olivia Rodrigo; (2) The characteristics of melancholia in Olivia Rodrigo's song lyrics in the album Sour. Furthermore, this research uses a qualitative descriptive research method. This method is used to analyze the data from the textual context. In addition, the purpose of this study is to identify the id, ego, and superego contained in the song lyrics on the album Sour and the characteristics of melancholia. The result of this study is the representation of id, ego, and superego in the lyrics. 136 total melancholia characteristics were found from the total data represented by each characteristic: 30 data profoundly painful dejection, 21 data cessation of interest in the outside world, 22 data loss of the capacity to love, 19 data inhibition of all activity, 26 data lowering of self-regarding feelings and 18 delusional expectations of punishment.
