Abstract
Speaking is a challenging skill for many Thai EFL secondary students due to limited oral practice, low vocabulary mastery, and speaking anxiety in teacher-centered classrooms. This qualitative case study examined the implementation of speaking stations in a tenth-grade English for Communication class at Muslim Suksa School, explored students’ responses, and analyzed their speaking performance during station-based activities involving storytelling, questionnaire exchanges, and debate. Data were collected through classroom video observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis to ensure triangulation. The findings showed that speaking stations were implemented systematically and received positive student responses, including increased motivation, reduced anxiety, and greater confidence. Students’ speaking performance improved progressively, particularly in vocabulary use and fluency, indicating that speaking stations effectively support communicative speaking development in EFL classrooms.
