Abstract

The quality of administrative services is an important indicator in the implementation of professional education. The improvement of the quality of administrative services in madrasahs is influenced by various factors, including the utilization of information technology and the competence of educational staff. However, the effectiveness of the utilization of information technology in improving the quality of administrative services still shows mixed results, so research is needed to test the influence of these two variables on the quality of administrative services. This study aims to analyze: (1) the effect of the utilization of information technology on the quality of administrative services; (2) the effect of the competence of educational staff on the quality of administrative services; and (3) the effect of the utilization of information technology and the competence of educational staff simultaneously on the quality of administrative services in State Islamic Senior High Schools throughout Bandung City. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey method. Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to the research respondents, who were all members of the population, totaling 98 people and determined using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the IBM SPSS Statistics program version 29 after fulfilling the classical assumption test. The results showed that the utilization of information technology did not have a significant effect on the quality of administrative services (p = 0.825). On the other hand, the competence of educational staff has a positive and significant effect on the quality of administrative services (p < 0.001). Simultaneously, the use of information technology and the competence of educational staff have a significant effect on the quality of administrative services (p < 0.001). The results of the regression analysis show a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.618 with an Adjusted R Square of 0.610, which means that 61.8% of the variation in the quality of administrative services can be explained by the use of information technology and the competence of educational staff, while the remaining 38.2% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. This study concludes that the results of the study indicate that the competence of educational staff has a stronger relative contribution in the research model compared to the use of information technology. Therefore, improving the quality of administrative services is not enough to be done through the provision and optimization of information technology alone, but must be accompanied by increasing the competence of educational staff through training, digital skills development, and strengthening professional capacity so that information technology can be utilized effectively in supporting quality administrative services.
