Abstract
This research aims to analyze the representation of social injustice in the movie script The Greatest Showman on Earth 2015 that tells the story of P.T. Barnum, a visionary who creates the Barnum Circus and becomes one of the most famous showmen in the world. However, the film has received criticism for its depiction of social injustice, particularly in its representation of marginalized communities such as people of color and individuals with disabilities. The research will employ a qualitative analysis of the film script, focusing on the themes, characters, and storylines that address social injustice. The script will be analyzed for its accuracy in depicting the representation of social injustice principle, as well as its representation of the social injustice form like marginalized communities. Additionally, the research will examine the film’s use of how the narrative represent the respond to convey themes of social injustice and its impact on marginalized communities. The research findings have vivid contribution to the growing body of literature on the representation of social justice in popular culture and media. Through the analysis of The Greatest Showman on Earth 2015, this study shed light on the ways in which the film script represents social injustice principle, form and the respond to the impact which has on marginalized communities. Additionally, the findings of this research might provide insight into the role of popular culture in shaping public perceptions and attitudes towards social justice.
