Abstract
This study analyzes the heroism elements in Black Panther (2018) movie. The formulation of the problem in this study is divided into two, namely (1) What are the stages of hero’s journey represented in Black Panther (2018) movie? (2) What are the archetypes of hero that represented classical and modern hero in Black Panther (2018) movie? This research is a study of popular literature, where this research is slightly different from others research. This is because the object in this study is included in the popular literature category. This study uses the theory from Christopher Vogler to find out how the Hero's journey is in a popular literary work. Meanwhile, to find out the archetypal of hero in this movie, Bryan Davis theory is used. This research used descriptive qualitative method. This research uses the scene and dialogues to get the result. From the results, this study showed that there are all 12 stages of a hero's journey found, and 7 of 9 archetypes of hero that showed in this movie. The invention in this research found that the main character T'Challa as a hero represents both classical and modern hero through archetypes of hero by Davis.
