Abstract
This research discusses two research problems, that are the three-dimensional aspects and the personality development of the main character in Where The Crawdads Sing. The purpose of this research is to analyze the three-dimensional aspects of the main character using Lajos Egri’s three-dimensional theory and the personality development of the main character using Ludwig Klages’ personality theory. In this research, the researcher used a qualitative method with a narrative approach to collect data and to analyze the data using inductive and deductive techniques. This research found three-dimensional aspects of Catherine Danielle Clark as a whole. She is beautiful, has long black hair and a well-proportioned body with deep-tanned skin. She has a better and cleaner appearance as she gets older. She is American and comes from a lower-class family, her parents abandoned her so that since childhood she sold seafood and in her 20s, she has jobs as a writer and poet. She did not go to school, was discriminated against and was not married. She has a hobby of reading books and collecting marsh’s organisms. She is an introvert, insecure, easily panics and worries, sensitive, irritable, selfish, does not easily trust and forgive others. However, she is independent, optimistic and militant in fighting for her life, and very talented in painting and writing. And this research also shows the personality development of Catherine Danielle Clark from her childhood, adolescence to adulthood. She has a strong memory with a strong recall power of events or stories and can understand the impressions she receives well. She has a sanguine temperament, an active feelings with an expansive mood, she is not expressive and has a personality that is controlled by the soul.
