Abstract
This research aims to provide an analysis of The Maze Runner movie in seeking a representation of Humanism. Data collection taken through the movie scripts as a provider of information about the films which being studied, as well as the main source in searching for data. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The Maze Runner raises issues of survival, freedom, human rights and the struggle to defend each other's lives, which promote justice for everyone. The analysis explores Humanism in terms of justice, freedom, struggle, protection and ethics in respecting life. The film success in conveying Humanism and the problems of Humanism can be considered to have achieved its target by using realistic images, symbolism and allegory. This film also provides an illustration of how humans continue to survive by marking in the film using social class. However, from the point of view of protagonist, this phenomenon is completely opposite to the concept of humanism which provides freedom and social justice for all people. This is illustrated by massive resistance to the WCKD organization which houses the drug manufacturing facility for the "Flare" virus and selects people who deserve the drug. The film shows the point of view through the protagonist who against the organization, and does not agree with their work principles which seem to dedicate their work to all mankind. The cooperation shown by the protagonists shows that all life must be protected indiscriminately.
